POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT: Postdoctoral position for the Tibetan Plateau Project

Academic Interests:
My research investigates interactions among climate, land use, and the structure and function of grassland, shrubland, and alpine ecosystems. I employ a suite of research tools, including experimental manipulations, space-for-time sampling, and ecosystem modeling. My work considers multiple scales, from species-level investigations to landscape-scale processes. Moreover, I work across disciplines to understand the complex dynamics of the coupled human-environment system in rangeland regions of the world.

Education:

Ph.D.

2003

University of California at Berkeley

M.S.

1996

University of California at Berkeley

B.S.

1990

Cornell University

Projects:

  • Extreme Weather, State Interventions, and Pastoral Livelihoods: Social and Ecological Impacts of Spring Snowstorms on the Tibetan Plateau
  • Experimental Warming and Grazing Effects on Tibetan Rangelands
  • Interactions Among Climate Variability, Pastoral Land Use Change, and Ecosystem Dynamics on the Tibetan Plateau: An Integrated Study Approach
